Marine Education Division of Centre for Factories of the Future (CFF) was built on the experience of CFF which has many years of experience in designing and developing vocational education programmes. The Centre was developed in Collaboration with the Turkish Maritime Education Foundation (TUDEV) and several other nautical institutions a partnership named MarEdu. MarEdu offers a range of support services on behalf of its members and aims primarily to improve safety at sea.

MarTEL Project
The problem is that there are no international or European standards for Maritime English . This project intends to establish a set of standards by transfer of innovation from existing English language standards and maritime English model courses. It was noted that deficiencies in maritime English causes accidents and therefore needs to be seriously taught in the basic and the main training of all Chapters of the STCW Code of practice |

TUDEV has been running Officer of Watch programmes for some 10 years.
In 2003 TUDEV become a BTEC Centre. BTEC Higher National Diplomas (HNDs)
in Navigation Engineering and HND in Marine Engineering cover the education
syllabuses of IMO and are accredited by IMarEST, MNTB and accepted by MCA.
TUDEV became an NVQ Centre in 2004 and intends to apply to become a SVQ Centre.
